Slowed Shutter

An honest attempt at transparency

I'm 34 years old. I've been married and subsequently divorced. I've been homeless. I've walked on the Great Wall of China.
In all my years of life, I've done and seen a lot. Yet somehow, I still feel as though the list of accomplishments is lacking. Lately, I've found myself yearning for a grand simplifying in my life.
I mean, I'm currently typing on an actual keyboard.
On an actual PC.
With an actual monitor. In this, the year of some lord, 2026.
It seems like with the rise in cell phones and short form entertainment like TikTok and shorts, that most people, myself included, have lost something.
Not necessarily innocence, but close. I feel like we've all kind of lost the ability to be entirely genuine. Or like we've all contracted some low-grade form of misanthropy.
Personally, some of these feelings stem from spending entirely too long in food service. The burnout has opened some vein in me that I'm hoping this will help me to mine.

So bear with me (haha) while I try to put my story into words. I hope to offer some relatable stories from my life. Maybe some advice on the hardships I've faced.
I may also try to find a way to scan some old photos to include when appropriate.

If you read this, I truly appreciate you and your time.
